Dr Dimitris Papadaskalopoulos is Assistant Professor in Economic Operation and Analysis of Advanced Electricity Systems, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras, Greece. He has previously been Research Fellow in Decentralised Energy Systems, in Imperial College London, UK. His research focuses on modelling, analysis and design of national and local electricity markets, including assessment of the role of renewable and distributed generation, energy storage and flexible demand technologies, and employing optimisation, game-theoretic and machine learning principles. Dimitris has co-authored over 70 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences, and he has been involved in over 30 national and international research and consultancy projects conducted in close collaboration with the energy industry, governments and regulators.
