Professor of Industrial Economics at the University of Patras
Kostas Tsekouras is a Professor of Industrial Economics at the University of Patras. His research integrates economic production theory with the technological view of the firm—framed within Evolutionary Economics—focusing on efficiency, innovation, strategy, and industry dynamics.
His work is published in premier journals such as Research Policy, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Business Research, and the European Journal of Operational Research. His extensive publication record also spans leading titles including Energy Economics, Small Business Economics, R&D Management, Industrial and Corporate Change, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Omega. Beyond his research, he contributes to the academic community as a member of the Editorial Review Board for Small Business Economics and as a regular reviewer for over 50 scientific journals.
In policy and advisory terms, Professor Tsekouras serves on the Scientific Council of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK), representing the field of “Economics and Management of Innovation.” He is an Expert for the European Commission on global manufacturing competitiveness and for the World Bank on productivity issues. His leadership tenure includes serving as Chairman and CEO of the Patras Science Park, Chair of the Department of Economics, and as a member of the University Senate. He has lectured extensively across Europe and China.
